WindRose-Trio d'Anches Truly a convergence of diverse winds, as the nautical term above suggests, this amazing trio d'anches - or "trio of reeds" - performs across the globe. Most frequently heard in the United States throughout the middle-Atlantic region, the ensemble features oboist Sandra Gerster Lisicky, clarinetist Les Nicholas, and bassoonist Douglas Kehlenbrink. The trio first came together in 1993 as performing faculty at Virginia' s James Madison University and now makes its home in the Washington , D.C. area.

WindRose has appeared in such diverse venues as the Short North Performing Arts series in Ohio ; as recipients of the Hugh Dougherty Visiting Artist Endowment at Virginia Wesleyan College ; under the auspices of the North Shore Music Association in Minnesota ; and as featured performers at the Biennial International Conference of the College Music Society in Vienna , Austria . The trio particularly enjoys, through its master-class offerings, helping young musicians discover the rewards of wind chamber music. WindRose performances have inspired the creation and dedication of numerous new works from admiring composers, and the ensemble has performed to critical acclaim at the famed Royal Parish Church of St. Martin-in-the-Fields, London .

It has been said that listening to chamber music is like listening-in on the conversations of a very interesting and very bright group of friends. Just so, WindRose-Trio d'Anches brings to light a seldom heard yet enchanting repertoire with compelling virtuosity and engaging personality.
